About this event
We're excited to once again invite you all to our National Update 2026 | Manaaki Tāngata this October in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington.
This is a conference-style event for clinicians (doctors, nurse practitioners, and nurses) who have attended previous MEDSAC medical training courses (or equivalent) and who are currently seeing referred patients for alleged sexual assault/abuse.
The venue for this year's Update is Rydges Wellington Central, 75 Featherston Street, Pipitea, Wellington.
Why Manaaki Tāngata?
Manaaki relates to the holistic lens of networking and professional support. It is about sharing resources and supporting one another. Tāngata directly translates to people, our focus for this event — our people, all people. Combined, manaaki tāngata means 'to care for the people', it is an acknowledgement of our dedication to you, our associates and affiliates, and to all individuals in Aotearoa New Zealand affected by sexual harm.
Waiho i te toipoto, kaua i te toiroa.
Let us keep close together, not wide apart.
